Mr. Berman was instrumental in the founding of Highstar in 1998 and has advised the Firm Highstar and its Portfolio Company senior managers for over a decade on political and regulatory matters related to the acquisition, management and growth of Highstar's investment portfolio.

Mr. Berman has over 25 years of experience in government relations, including advising on domestic and foreign policy and politics. Mr. Berman currently serves on the Advisory Board of the Ports America Companies. He is currently the managing director of Ogilvy Government Relations, an organization that has represented leading corporations and institutions with legislative and regulatory concerns in Washington, DC. Mr. Berman founded Ogilvy's predecessor, Berman Enterprises, a lobbying and business consulting firm, which merged with the Federalist Group in January 2004. Mr. Berman has also held various political and governmental roles, including the position of Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Policy.
